Woods Fuller Attorneys Selected as 2023 Great Plains Super Lawyers and Rising Stars
Woods Fuller is proud to announce that three shareholders have been selected to the 2023 Great Plains Super Lawyers list. This year the honor is bestowed to Melanie Carpenter, Brad Grossenberg, and James Moore. Being named to the Super Lawyers list is a prestigious distinction which only the top 5% of attorneys in the Great Plains receive. The firm also has two shareholders, Jordan Feist and Jordan Veurink, who have been selected to the 2022 Great Plains Rising Star list, an honor reserved for those only 2.5% of attorneys in the Great Plains.
Melanie Carpenter has represented Woods Fuller clients with litigation and employment law needs since 1996 and she currently chairs the firm’s employment law practice group. Melanie is a member of the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association, South Dakota Defense Lawyers Association, and the International Association of Defense Counsel. She is the past President of the South Dakota chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Melanie is licensed to practice in South Dakota.
Brad Grossenberg joined Woods Fuller in 1978; his expertise lies in business law, corporate law, tax law, real estate law, estate planning, and trust law. Brad has received numerous recognitions over the years. He is a Fellow in both The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and the American College of Tax Counsel (ACTC). Brad is licensed to practice in South Dakota.
Since joining the firm in 1991, James Moore has handled trial work involving government liability, eminent domain, insurance disputes, business litigation, and minority-shareholder claims. James currently heads the litigation practice group at Woods Fuller. James is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates as well as the South Dakota Defense Lawyers Association and Defense Research Institute. He serves on the South Dakota State Bar Law School Committee. James is licensed in South Dakota.
Jordan Feist is a bankruptcy lawyer, primarily focusing on creditor and bankruptcy litigation as well as business litigation. Jordan is the chair of the bankruptcy and creditors’ rights practice group for the firm. He has been named a Great Plains Rising Star since 2018 along with other honors. Jordan is licensed to practice in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
Jordan Veurink assists clients in all aspects of estate and tax planning, by developing estate plans that minimize estate tax liability and drafting trusts, wills, and business succession documents to implement such plans. He also represents individuals and corporate fiduciaries in trust administration and probate matters.
