Valentine's Day Q&A with the Krogstads

Q&A w/ Craig & Liz Krogstad

Where did you grow up?

Craig Krogstad - Willmar, MN

Liz Krogstad - Zell, SD, a “suburb” of Redfield

Describe yourself in 30 words.

We answered this one for each other instead

Liz Krogstad’s description of Craig Krogstad - Craig is loyal, dedicated and hardworking and cares deeply about helping people.  He lives for adventure, especially through his many outdoor pursuits and traveling/spending time with his family.

Craig Krogstad’s description of Liz Krogstad - Liz is caring and deeply committed to the people and activities she loves.  She lives life to the fullest in her many roles, including mother, wife, chef, yoga teacher, and photographer.

What motivated you to specialize in your areas of practice?

Craig Krogstad - I never wanted to be in court so Tax law has provided a way to practice law that I enjoy.  In addition, I appreciate the technical and challenging nature of that practice area.

Liz Krogstad - I appreciate the planning nature of both estate and special needs planning.  I am able to partner directly with my clients to make their lives easier and provide them peace of mind for their families.

What do you like most about your work?

Craig Krogstad - Working with my clients and their family businesses to preserve their hard work and protect their legacies.

Liz Krogstad  - Similar to Craig, I enjoy working with our clients and creating plans to help them navigate life transitions.  Thinking about death and dying is difficult for people especially some of my special needs families, so I find it meaningful to make those discussions a little easier for them.

What’s it like to work with your spouse?

Craig Krogstad - Wonderful

Liz Krogstad - We’ve wanted to work together since law school so it’s been fun working side by side on our family relationships.   We’re able to use each of our individual strengths and work really well together.  It may not be for everyone, but I wouldn’t want to practice law any other way.
