Renewal Process for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Announced
Renewal Process for DACA Announced
On June 15, 2012, the Secretary of Homeland Security announced that certain undocumented people who came to the United States as children, and meet several key guidelines may request consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and are eligible to apply for work authorization. DACA and the accompanying work authorization are granted in two-year increments.
On June 5, 2014, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service announced the process for renewing DACA. Individuals previously enrolled in DACA are now able to renew their status for another two years. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service provides more information on the DACA renewal process at the following link: http://www.uscis.gov/humanitarian/consideration-deferred-action-childhood-arrivals-process/renew-your-daca
