Investing in the Future of Entrepreneurship
Woods, Fuller, Shultz, & Smith has called downtown Sioux Falls home since our establishment 135 years ago. We advise on a full spectrum of business transactions, and we partner with business and corporate clients of all sizes – including entrepreneurs and startups. It should be no surprise we want to see businesses thrive in and around Sioux Falls. We know successful businesses are good for our community.
That is why we are proud to make an investment in building the next generation of the startup community here by becoming a Founder Funder of Startup Sioux Falls. Contributions from Founder Funders help sponsor memberships for entrepreneurs who have demonstrated a financial need. That includes nonprofits, the economically disadvantaged, and pre-revenue startups.
“As a Founder Funder, Woods Fuller is helping to make entrepreneurship more accessible to underserved communities across our great city,” said Jim Wiederrich, Shareholder at Woods Fuller. “We are proud to help break down barriers for individuals who want to own their own businesses. We are excited to make this investment in the City of Sioux Falls.”
According to Peter Hauck, community manager at Startup Sioux Falls, “supporting entrepreneurship is crucial for a thriving local economy. In fact, according to the Kauffman Foundation, new businesses account for nearly all of net new job creation. At the risk of sounding cliché, a rising tide lifts all boats. More businesses equals more new jobs which, in turn, equals greater opportunity and prosperity for our community.”
Startup Sioux Falls will soon be moving to new headquarters in downtown Sioux Falls. Located at 6th Street and Phillips Avenue, the renovated old Milwaukee Freight Depot will include co-working, meeting and event spaces, and other amenities to support entrepreneurs.
