EXPERIENCE:

Prior to earning her law degree, Susan was a paralegal for several years, where she gained invaluable experience supporting a wide variety of practice areas. This background provided a uniquely comprehensive and robust foundation for her own practice of law, which consists primarily of business organization and representation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate contracts, real estate transactions, and municipal law. Susan also practices in family law including divorce, custody modification, paternity, and guardianships and conservatorships.

While in law school, Susan served as an associate editor for Mitchell Hamline Law Review Vol. 49 and continued to build her practical experience through student internships. She graduated with honors in the top 20% of her class. Additionally, before entering the legal field, Susan obtained a MA in Classics, and taught Latin for elementary through undergraduate levels as well as edited several works in the language. She credits her experience as a teacher for the personable and accessible communication style she has developed in her law practice.

Susan chose to join the team at Woods Fuller for its long-standing traditions of integrity, excellence, and community service, and she strives to advocate for her clients in accordance with these esteemed values. As a Sioux Falls native, giving back to her local community is important to Susan, particularly to programs that support families and small businesses. She currently serves on the board of directors for two such local non-profit organizations. Outside of her practice, Susan often enjoys a respite in the outdoors with her family of active young children.
