EXPERIENCE:
Andy practices primarily in the commercial litigation and personal injury litigation areas. He has tried several cases in multiple areas, including commercial construction law, breach of contract, breach of warranty, employment law, trademark infringement, personal injury, divorce, and criminal law. He has handled cases that were resolved prior to trial in several additional areas, including defamation, insurer bad faith, undue influence, eminent domain, product liability, secured transactions, the Federal Tort Claims Act, the False Claims Act, the Lanham Act, and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
Prior to joining the firm, Andy clerked for Justice Richard Sabers of the South Dakota Supreme Court. After serving as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of South Dakota, Andy and the late Governor William J. Janklow formed the Janklow Law Firm, which later merged into Johnson, Janklow, Abdallah.
